Sociologists say we need a “Third Place” (not home, not work) to socialize.

1. Language Exchange Meetups

These are goldmines for multicultural connections. Everyone is there to learn and talk. It removes the awkwardness of approaching a stranger because talking is the whole point.

2. International Food Markets

Food brings people together. Taking a cooking class or frequenting ethnic grocery stores can open doors to new cultures naturally.

3. Expat Groups

If you live in a major city, look for “Expats in [City]” groups. They are always looking for locals to show them around. Be that local.
